Retail Manager

The Role:

The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Ultra Football retail store, ensuring smooth running, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This role involves managing staff, driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, visual merchandising and managing inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement strategies to achieve store sales targets and profitability goals.
* In collaboration with the Head of Commercial, analyse sales figures, forecast future sales, and plan activities to maximise sales opportunities.
* Monitor and manage expenses to ensure profitability.
* Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
* Resolve customer complaints promptly, providing solutions and follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
* Recruit, train, supervise and appraise staff.
* Create a positive store culture through effective team management and communication.
* Manage staff rosters and schedules.
* Oversee store opening and closing procedures.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Maintain store standards and cleanliness.
* Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control in collaboration with Logistics and Supply Chain.
* Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure accurate inventory records.
* Ensure store displays are attractive and in line with Merchandising and Brand standards.
* Implement seasonal and promotional displays effectively.
* With the Head of Commercial, monitor financial performance and report on sales and profitability.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field preferred.
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in retail management.
* Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a team.

Skills:

Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to analyse data and sales figures.

Proficiency in using retail management software.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Role KPIs

1. Store Sales Performance

– Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets, grow Average Transaction Value (ATV) and Units per Transaction (UPT).

2. Customer Experience

– Maintain high customer satisfaction (NPS/CSAT) and resolve complaints promptly.

3. Team Management

– Retain and develop staff, ensure training completion, and maintain roster efficiency.

4. Store Presentation & Standards

– Keep the store at an impeccable standard, achieving ≥95% compliance in cleanliness, merchandising, and brand guidelines.

5. Stock & Inventory Management

– Maintain stock accuracy, minimise shrinkage, and work with our team to ensure key products are always in-stock.

6. Campaign & Visual Merchandising Execution

– Implement seasonal displays and promotions on time and to brand standards.
