Ditch the tools and step into the control room. We are seeking a technically minded BMS Operator to join the Facilities Management team at a major hospital precinct in Woolloongabba. This is a high-stakes, \"eye in the sky\" role where you will manage the heartbeat of a critical health site. Compensation & Benefits
Premium hourly rate: $***** /hr + super as your base. Significant uplift through rotating shift penalties (mornings, afternoons, and nights), overtime, and on-call opportunities. Structured 4 days on, 3 days off rotating roster providing consistent long weekends. Transparent pathway to permanent employment.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the seamless operation of life‐sustaining plant and equipment as the primary point of contact for the building's vital signs.
* Manage Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure precise HVAC, air quality, and temperature controls across a clinical campus.
* Detect and respond to system alarms, coordinating with in‐office electricians, fitters, and plumbers for immediate repairs.
* Lead communication during system outages or emergencies to keep essential services online.
* Maintain precise digital logs and ensure high-quality shift handovers to maintain site continuity.
Qualifications
* Ideally a Mechanical or Electrical trade background (fitter, HVAC, sparky, or plumber).
* Proven background as a BMS Operator or within a high-stakes control room setting.
* Deep understanding of HVAC and hydraulic systems in a large-scale facility.
* High competency with monitoring software and complex computer systems.
* Current Boiler Ticket considered an advantage.
* Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and provide Hepatitis B records.
