Project Manager – Major Community Building Infrastructure x 2
Location: Melbourne's West
Contract: 6 months initial (with potential extension up to 2 years)
Randstad is proud to be working with a leading Victorian council in Melbourne's West to recruit an experienced Site based Project Manager to oversee the delivery of major community infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the construction phase of high‑profile community developments including a new aquatic centre and other library, pavilion and council related building projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the construction phase of major capital works projects.
* Coordinate and liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones and quality standards are achieved.
* Monitor project progress, complete regular site inspections, and address issues or risks to maintain timelines.
* Manage contracts, variations, and procurement activities in alignment with council policies and regulations.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, building codes, and environmental regulations.
* Prepare and deliver project reports and presentations for senior management and council committees.
* Facilitate strong communication and collaboration across project teams, community groups, and stakeholders.
* Implement effective risk management strategies and resolve project‑related conflicts.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in Building Construction, Architecture, Project Management, Engineering or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in project and/or construction management. (Site based experience is required)
* Proven ability to deliver Capital Works Projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
* Strong stakeholder and contractor management capabilities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Local Government or council project management experience (highly regarded).
* Current driver's licence.
