We are seeking the newest member to join our team of passionate bakers at Waratah.
Do you have the skills and experience or the motivation and tenacity to step up and run bakery production in the absence of a production manager.
As a Qualified Baker at Bakers Delight, you will be responsible for
* Baking and presenting quality product to meet changing customer needs.
* Coaching and supporting the development of Apprentices.
* Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the bakery.
* Assisting with stock control and production expenses.
* Providing delightful customer service when required.
* Preparation and production of quality bakery products to Bakers Delight as per BDH recipe.
* Weighing flour and other ingredients to prepare dough.
* Operating machines and tools to prepare bakery products.
* Decorating baked goods with glazes, icings, and edible toppings.
* Maintaining a cleanliness of machines, tools and premises and abide by company policies and procedures in relation to WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) and Food Safety to ensure a safe working environment for customers, staff and contractors.
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following;
* Strong knowledge of deck ovens & baking.
* Experience with sourdoughs, hand molding, shaping, cutting breads
* Mixing experience and understanding the process of sourdough and yeast doughs.
* Sound knowledge in weighing ingredients for different type of bread and pastry.
* Knowledge in a wide variety of different type of flours and seeds.
* At least 1.5 years' experience in the industry.
* Ability to work in a well-established team with efficiency and consistency.
* Have an eye for detail.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Strong work ethic.
* Sense of humor.
* A willingness to learn and learn FAST.
