POSITION SUMMARY
The position of Maintenance Specialist provides a variety of routine and scheduled maintenance and carpentry tasks throughout the administration and residential campus. The role involves receiving and responding to work orders submitted by program and administrative staff. The Maintenance Specialist will frequently work nearby and with others, projecting a positive role model and attitude.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides specialty skills such as painting, flooring, drywalling, plumbing, and other carpentry needs.
* Receives and records all work orders, orders parts, and completes repairs. In consultation with the Building and Grounds Manager, arranges for external repair services as needed.
* Performs routine maintenance for furnaces, air conditioners, and other appliances.
* Supervises summer workers, teaching proper maintenance procedures and assisting them with minor tasks. Maintains time sheets and records for these workers and provides information to program staff as requested.
* Maintains monthly records of mileage, oil changes, and other maintenance for each vehicle. Schedules repairs and arranges annual inspections.
* Ensures the condition of agency vehicles, including filling gas tanks daily and checking oil, batteries, fluids, windshield wipers, belts, cables, and tire inflation.
* Provides assistance to other sites, including moving furniture and addressing maintenance problems, as requested.
* Participates in external health and safety inspections, correcting any reported findings.
* Completes all assigned tasks and responsibilities, including any unlisted tasks, as directed by your supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 21 years of age.
