WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?

This Clinical Senior Occupational Therapist role provides the opportunity to lead high-quality occupational therapy services within the Emergency Department. You will ensure patients receive appropriate assessment of functional and environmental needs related to their current presentation, supporting safe and timely discharge. The role combines advanced clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and supervising staff, fostering continuous learning, contributing to innovative care models and workforce strategies, and supporting quality improvement and research initiatives.

You will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals, ensuring occupational therapy services are integrated into broader healthcare strategies across the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network, while also undertaking non-consumer facing responsibilities that enhance social work practices across the Network.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

* Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care including functional screens, interventions, and collaborative discharge planning.
* Assess the impact of illness or injury on daily activities and implement supports to improve safety and function prior to discharge.
* Facilitate safe transitions from hospital to home, minimising risk of readmission.
* Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to occupational therapy and allied health staff.
* Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to quality improvement, research, and innovative workforce strategies.
