About the role:
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Facilities Manager professional to join our Cairns-based team. The role will lead the delivery of day-to-day maintenance services, and maintenance planning across the portfolio of properties, ensuring all facilities are consistently maintained to a high standard, statutory compliance, and with a focus on a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading a small team to deliver day-to-day cleaning, gardening, and maintenance efficiently.
* Effective and timely response to unplanned maintenance.
* Maintain building operations to deliver efficient and cost-effective management of all properties.
* Develop and manage building condition reports and lifecycle maintenance plans.
* Manage operating expenditures and assist in budgeting processes.
* Contractor management and management of service agreements.
* Investigating maintenance issues to ensure proactive responses and continuous improvement.
* Ensuring a high level of communication and liaison with stakeholders, contractors, and tenants.
* Establish/maintain systems and procedures to improve the service delivery, safety of the team, and long-term sustainability objectives.
* Manage and contribute to the on‐call roster, ensuring reliable coverage and timely response to all facility requirements.
Skills & Key Requirements
* Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar position - extensive technical knowledge is an advantage.
* Strong organisational and computer skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong knowledge of safe work practices.
* Must have a valid Australian Driving License.
* Willing to work outside of normal operating hours, including weekends, as required.
* The role is based in Cairns, but travel to Townsville and Brisbane may be required.
