We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide practical, commercially focused legal support on a part‑time basis (three days per week, 0.6 FTE), with flexibility in workdays and start times.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will support the business across commercial contracts, employment law, governance and risk, helping to ensure ALT remains compliant, well governed and commercially protected across Australia and its growing export operations.

Key Responsibilities
* Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, deeds and supplier agreements
* Provide employment and workplace law advice in support of ALT's compliance with the Fair Work Act and relevant Awards
* Support and advise on compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations
* Support corporate governance, policy development and board documentation in conjunction with executive leadership
* Liaise with regulators, insurers and external legal counsel as required
* Advise on cross‑border legal and U.S. compliance matters (desirable)
* Deliver legal and compliance training to leaders and managers
* Uphold confidentiality, legal privilege and conflict‑of‑interest obligations
About You
You are a pragmatic, commercially focused lawyer who can translate complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance for operational leaders.
You will bring:
* Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
* Current WA practising certificate (or immediate eligibility to obtain one)
* 5–8 years' post‑admission experience in‑house or within a commercial practice
* Strong knowledge of corporate, employment and contract law
* Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
* Exposure to U.S. or international legal frameworks (desirable)
