We're seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our Environment and Generalist team.
As the Head of Environments and Generalists, you will establish and maintain productive workflows in your department, ensuring the right tools and technology are being used to deliver high-quality work in an effective manner.
You will be accountable for defining and implementing workflows and approaches to maximize efficiency across show teams.
Key responsibilities include designing and setting standards for the EnvGen Pipeline to facilitate high-standard output from your team.
In this role, you will engage in the creative process with a positive attitude and excellent aesthetic eye, anticipating potential problems and proposing solutions.
Working closely with other Heads of Department, you will communicate on behalf of the EnvGen team, serve as a point of contact for collaboration, and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
This involves working closely with counterparts in other studios to plan the division of work between locations, maximizing resources and productivity.
The line management of your EnvGen team, including Supervisors, is a critical aspect of this role.
You will be responsible for conducting probationary reviews, annual appraisals, performance management, and succession planning, while also hiring for your team when necessary.
Mentorship and guidance are essential in developing your team and fulfilling their potential.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Deep understanding of environment creation within visual effects for high-end film and television.
At least 10 years of experience in the VFX industry.
Significant supervision and/or management experience in the VFX industry.
Previous experience in line management.
