The Opportunity We’re partnering with an established Australian organisation operating in a regulated, site‑based environment to recruit a Site‑Based HR Business Partner. This business has a long‑term presence locally and takes a very practical approach to how it operates. Safety, compliance and having the right people in place are all taken seriously, and there’s a strong focus on steady, sustainable outcomes rather than quick fixes. This role is for someone who likes being close to the business on site, visible, and working directly with leaders on real workforce issues. You’ll be part of the day‑to‑day operation, helping leaders manage people challenges as they arise. The Role This is a newly created position aligned to one operational site, working closely with the local leadership team while being supported by a broader HR function and reporting into the Senior HR Business Partner. The role is hands on and operational. You’ll be the go‑to HR contact on site, providing practical advice across employee relations, performance, recruitment and compliance. While there’s support from central HR, the expectation is that you’re comfortable making decisions, building relationships and being present where it matters. Key Responsibilities Act as the main HR point of contact for site leadership and frontline supervisors Provide practical advice on employee relations, performance management and disciplinary matters Interpret and apply Modern Awards, enterprise agreements and employment legislation Support workplace health and safety activities, including injury management and return‑to‑work processes Manage recruitment and onboarding for site‑based and frontline roles Coach and support leaders through people matters, helping build confidence and capability Assist with workforce planning, compliance requirements and reporting Work closely with the wider HR team while maintaining a strong on‑site presence About You You’re an experienced HR professional who is comfortable working in operational or blue‑collar environments. You enjoy building trust with leaders and employees, and you take a calm, practical approach when dealing with people issues. You’re confident balancing operational needs with compliance requirements and can influence outcomes without needing formal authority. Being on site and part of the leadership team is something you genuinely enjoy.
