We are currently seeking a Group Accountant to join our team at our Eight Mile Plains office. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to lead a small accounting team while also working closely with the Directors on development and investment feasibility analysis, cash flow and profitability forecasting, and stakeholder reporting.

About the Role
As Group Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Leading the accounting team to ensure timely preparation of monthly rental invoices for commercial tenants, including outgoing budgets and reconciliations.
Managing follow-ups on rental and outgoing arrears.
Overseeing data entry related to commercial property management and accommodation businesses.
Supporting team members with invoice review and payment processing.
Preparing quarterly financial reports for the group and its entities.
Conducting cash flow forecasting and financial modelling.
Assisting with the review and development of business, investment, and development feasibilities.
Coordinating end-of-financial-year processes with the groups tax reporting accountants, including preparation, review, and sign-off of accounts, and responding to external accountant queries.
Collaborating with the wider team on rent reviews, market appraisals, contract negotiations, maintenance, and other operating expenditures.
Assisting in the management of the Directors' and stakeholders' personal financial affairs, including SMSFs and managed funds.
Identifying opportunities to improve financial systems and processes for enhanced efficiency and performance.
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and support a team.
Proficiency in MYOB and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, particularly for reporting and financial analysis.
Familiarity with financial reporting platforms (experience with Fathom is an advantage though not essential).
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Prior experience in the property sector (management, investment, or development) will be highly regarded.
