MPHN is a community‐focused healthcare organisation funded by the Commonwealth Government to deliver the Primary Health Network program across the Murrumbidgee region of NSW. We work across a broad and diverse geography, from rural townships to regional hubs, partnering with health providers, community organisations and government agencies to reduce health inequities and strengthen the primary healthcare system. firsthealth Limited Board
The firsthealth Limited Board oversees the governance and strategic direction of Murrumbidgee PHN. They are engaged in supporting our organisation to deliver the best possible primary care for local communities and to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for current and future health needs.
The Board is a skills‐based Board consisting of nine non‐executive directors. The successful candidate will serve as a Board‐appointed director until the conclusion of the Company's 2026 Annual General Meeting, expected to take place in November 2026.
Board Director Role
We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals with experience as a General Practitioner and the following attributes:
* experience in health leadership or teaching roles, and
* professionally or personally located in the Murrumbidgee region.

The Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is one of 31 new primary health care organisations being established from 1 July 2015 with the key objectives of:
* Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes;
* Improving coordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time.
Primary Health Networks have been set six key priorities for targeted work: mental health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, population health, health workforce, eHealth and aged care. The MPHN will be working with health service providers, consumers and communities to improve coordination of care, ensuring patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time.
