Band of the South Australia Police – Musician (Flute/Piccolo)
Full-time, permanent position. Position reference: 841528. Location: 5000 – Adelaide. Job status: Long Term Contract. Eligibility: Open to everyone.
Pay range: $83,398–$102,491 a year plus a 10% shift allowance.
Responsibilities
* Perform primarily in the Concert Band and, as required, in other ensembles and the Parade Band.
* Take part in marching drill and ceremonial procedures.
* Maintain a professional image, demonstrating leadership, cultural sensitivity and best practices in customer service.
* Deliver performances under all weather conditions, maintaining personal fitness and resilience.
* Work shift hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Travel regularly to regional South Australia and, where necessary, interstate or overseas.
* Provide a high‐quality audition recording (5–10 minutes) containing two or more contrasting concert works or etudes on flute, plus either one work/etude or two contrasting excerpts on piccolo.
* Submit copies of the sheet music used for the audition.
Qualifications
* Professional musician with a skill level on primary instrument(s) that meets professional standards.
* Competent in flute and/or piccolo performance.
* Ability to work independently, adapt to indoor and outdoor performance environments, and collaborate effectively with peers.
* Accepted by the South Australia Police recruitment process, including medical, psychological/psychiatric, and probity assessments.
Salary & Benefits
* Base salary $83,398 per annum during the 12‐month probation period.
* Salary $86,125 per annum upon permanent appointment, increasing to $102,491 over seven annual increments.
* 10% shift allowance.
