About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, in this role you will support the Finance Team Lead through the delivery of key monthly and annual financial reporting deliverables.
You will also play a key role in process improvement and projects working collaboratively within the wider finance team and ensure all finance actions are completed in accordance with processes and timelines.
Responsibilities
* Produce monthly and annual statutory financial statements, including preparation of period end reconciliations along with budgeting and forecast
* Preparation of periodic cash flow forecasts
* Ensuring the system controls relating to governance, cash management and transactional processes are effective and compliant legislation
* Lead debtor and bank reconciliations and liaise with banking partners
* Contribute to monthly and yearly financial accounting and reporting
* Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, notes and accompanying work papers
* Assist within the team to meet cyclical workflow deadlines and any other duties as required
* Keep abreast of Australian Accounting Standards and NSW Government accounting policies and practices
* Establish and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders
* Have a proactive approach to the identification and improvement of accounting processes and procedures
About You
The successful applicant will:
* Possess 3+ years relevant experience in a financial accounting role
* Qualified CPA or CA or studying towards this qualification is desirable
* Knowledge and experience of Technology One financial management systems is desirable
* Display well-developed analytical skills with a focus on developing insights in addition to analysis
* Bring a proactive approach with a positive attitude and a commitment to delivering high quality output on time and to specification
* Be an Independent self-starter with strong time management and prioritisation skills, able to scope, manage and multi-task multiple streams of work at the same time
* Be able to think clearly and creatively within a dynamic and fast paced environment
* Provide maturity and an ability to exercise initiative
* Showcase an advanced knowledge of relevant finance systems/processes
* Display strong presentation and communication skills including the ability to present information in written format in a clear, logical manner to facilitate better decision making
* Showcase the ability to deal with complexity and embrace change
* Intermediate (or advanced) level in Microsoft Excel
* Showcase the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross functionally with senior leaders and department managers
* Showcase the ability to influence, negotiate and present findings to achieve desired targets
* Other duties as directed by senior management
