An additional school funded Junior Secondary Head of Department position will be created for 2026 to support the welfare needs of students and the local community.The successful candidate will have demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for fostering positive student/teacher relationships and proactive welfare initiatives to support Junior Secondary students.What You BringDemonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with students and staff, with high expectations for student behaviour and performance.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and lead the planning and implementation of welfare initiatives to support student attendance, engagement and success.Step Into Your Next Chapter – ResponsibilitiesDevelop the quality of teaching and learning by making informed decisions to support student engagement through analysis of data and knowledge of student welfare needs.Lead high expectations and accountability for student attendance, uniform, classroom behaviour, playground behaviour and supervision for management of programs and facilities.Communicate and document student welfare needs between all appropriate school community members including executive team, senior leadership, guidance officers, youth support workers, Indigenous support, special education, school nurse, year level coordinators, teachers and parents.Play a lead role in the development and support of the school's flexible learning environment to cater for students showing early signs of disengagement from learning.Build and maintain community connections and links to educational welfare programs and industry to support targeted welfare needs and pathway opportunities for students.Submit Your ApplicationAttach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should understand your relevant work history).
