The Pharmaceutical Locum Company – Katherine NT
Experienced Hospital Pharmacist needed to work a minimum of 6-8 weeks. Duties in the clinical area require pharmacists with prior hospital training.
Dates & Times
Dates: Monday 2nd February until Friday 27th March
Hours: Mon - Fri 8:00am - 4:21pm
Note: Unpaid lunch break.
Remuneration
Rate Weekday $70/hr + super
Return Travel: Reimbursement is available for return travel, capped at $1,200
Travel, Accommodation & Vehicle Access
* Travel to Katherine: The most common route is to fly into Darwin and then take the Greyhound bus to Katherine. If using the bus, we recommend arriving in Katherine on a business day on the 2:05pm service, so we can arrange pick-up and transport to their accommodation.
* Accommodation: On-site or off-site accommodation may be available, though availability varies throughout the year. In some cases, only shared accommodation is offered – typically in a 2-3 bedroom unit or house – with other Allied Health/Nursing/Medical staff of the same gender. While we prioritise on-campus accommodation for locums without a vehicle, it is not guaranteed.
* Vehicle Access: Katherine Hospital maintains a pool of vehicles that staff can book for personal errands such as grocery shopping. These vehicles are bookable via our internal system and can be used up to 2-3 hours at a time, with a travel limit of 30km from town.
Pharmacy Environment and Professional Service
* Merlin Dispense: you will be working with one pharmacy manager, one clinical pharmacist and one pharmacy technician.
* Ward duties: General medicine ward – Clinical Services: Deliver medication advice and reviews on general medicine wards. Knowledge of renal and indigenous health is highly regarded.
* Responsibilities: Close involvement with the general medicine team; collaboration within multidisciplinary teams; advising on complex regimes and medication safety; able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and be flexible in managing competing demands, shifting priorities and shared responsibilities across clinical and dispensary services.
