The Head of Department - Science leads curriculum, teaching and assessment across Science subjects, ensuring high-quality instruction, consistent planning, and strong student outcomes.
The role includes coaching and developing staff, analysing student data to guide improvement strategies, overseeing assessment and moderation processes, and maintaining safe and compliant laboratory practices.
The HOD coordinates resources and budgets, supports differentiated and evidence-based teaching approaches, and contributes to whole-school improvement priorities through clear communication and collaborative leadership.
The role requires strong Science teaching expertise, instructional leadership capability, data-informed decision making, and effective staff coaching and organisational skills.
