Indie Education is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, and a registered charity. The principal activity of the Company is the operation of Independent Schools (15‐18 year old students), Registered Training Organisation, Adult Community Education and adult disability support training, all of which are associated community and/or education programs.
Indie is governed by seven directors representing each Australian State, and with international connections. There are ten scheduled board meetings per year. Board appointments are for an initial two-year term with the option to re‐stand for election for a further two years. This is a voluntary position with director costs being reimbursed.
Key attributes:
* Ideally, as our new member, you will enhance the diversity of our Board in line with the numerous communities we support, and strengthen the educational, legal, and financial skills of our Board and subcommittees.
* Executive/senior management experience in organisations of similar size and stage of growth as Indie Education.
* Experience within the fields of operations we cover including secondary education and as a registered training organisation.
* The ability to work with a team in a respectful, collegiate, and collaborative manner.

Indie School: Registered and accredited non‐government schools providing alternative education for young people aged 15‐18.
Indie College: a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO) where coaches deliver accredited training designed to improve literacy and numeracy skills leading towards employment‐focused outcomes.
Indie Academy: a school for 19‐25 year olds who want to complete their senior schooling education.
Aware: a registered NDIS provider offering training, lifestyle and supported employment programs for adults with disability.
