Position Overview:
We’re seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Soil Technician to join our team, with work primarily based in remote areas across Northern Queensland within our SES and ETS Geotechnical groups. In this role, you’ll benefit from hands-on mentorship from experienced staff while further developing your practical skills in soil sampling, testing, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with soil sampling and concrete testing in both field and laboratory environments.
* Conduct basic laboratory tests on soil, aggregate, and other construction materials.
* Accurately record and report test results.
* Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
* Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
* Support senior technicians and engineers in various tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
* High school certificate or equivalent.
* Certificate 3 in Construction Materials Testing or higher.
* Strong interest in geotechnics, construction, or related fields.
* Basic understanding of mathematics and science.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
* Physical ability to perform fieldwork, including lifting and carrying equipment.
* Valid manual driver’s license.
