The Transport Manager is responsible for managing, planning, and coordinating the operations of all transportation-related matters within the organization. This includes strategic development and execution of transportation policies and procedures, safety compliance, budget management, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity while responsible for all staff training and performance reviews.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Strategic Planning and Execution**:
Formulate and implement strategic plans to improve transportation operations based on organizational needs and industry trends. Develop and maintain transportation policies, standards, and procedures in line with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
- **Operational Management**:
Oversee daily operations of the transportation department, ensuring timely and efficient dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles. Evaluate operational performance using data-driven metrics, implementing changes as needed to ensure optimal efficiency.
- **Budget Management**:
Develop, implement, and manage the transportation department’s budget, making effective use of resources to achieve departmental goals. Monitor operational costs to ensure they align with set budgets.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:
Stay informed about laws, regulations, and ISO requirements that impact the transportation activities of the organization. Ensure all activities comply with legal standards and the company’s policies. Sold knowledge of HACCP, OH & S regulations, including BFM Legislation.
- 3-5 years experience in transport and logistics is a must
- MR/HR Valid drivers licence, is a must
- Good driving record with no pending violations
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in warehouse distribution (desirable)
- Food service experience desirable
- Strong attention to detail
- Robust leadership, team management and problem-solving skills.
- Good time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Physically fit and able to lift/carry items up to 25kg and able to walk, stand, bend and lift
**Salary**: From $65,000.00 per year
