Are you passionate about using technology to make a real impact? A high growth, VC-backed health tech company are scaling and are looking to grow their mobile engineering capabilities.
They are seeking a Staff (or Lead or very strong Senior) Android Developer to join a high-performing team and help elevate their Android experience even further. This is a particularly exciting opportunity as the company is planning a move toward Kotlin Multiplatform or React Native, and you'll play a key role in shaping and driving that journey.
You'll bring strong leadership experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and grow a team as the platform evolves toward a cross-platform architecture.
About the Role
You'll take end-to-end ownership of Android features, from shaping the technical approach through to delivery, optimisation, and continuous improvement. Working closely with product and design, you'll help bring ideas to life while ensuring the app remains fast, reliable, and modern.
You'll also help raise the bar for engineering quality by contributing to architectural decisions, setting best practices, and supporting the growth of junior/mid level engineers.
What You'll Be Working On
* Building new Android features using modern Kotlin, Jetpack libraries, and contemporary architecture
* Improving app performance, stability, and overall user experience
* Collaborating across product, design, and engineering to deliver thoughtful, user-centred solutions
* Troubleshooting issues and owning fixes through to resolution
* Enhancing development processes, documentation, and code quality
* Providing technical leadership and mentorship within the mobile team
What We're Looking For
* Strong commercial experience building native Android applications in Kotlin
* Ideally some exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native and/or iOS
* Solid understanding of modern Android architecture patterns and Jetpack components
* Confidence working with asynchronous programming (Coroutines / Flow)
* Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD environments
* A collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced product environment
