Employment status: Permanent Full-time 1.0 FTE
Classification: Municipal Officer Level 3
Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024
Salary range: $91,138 to $99,635 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.

About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by providing high level professional event management support and ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of City of Hobart events and activation programs.

Role accountabilities include:

* Demonstrated event coordination experience of festivals, major events and venues and a proven understanding of the delivery of event and festival production needs.
* Oversee preparation and enact during events and activations Risk, Emergency, Traffic and Pedestrian movement plans.
* Oversee the community participation associated with City of Hobart–delivered events
* Oversee the development, implementation, and delivery of all aspects of key City of Hobart delivered events, including taking the lead on delivering the New Year's Eve (NYE) Fireworks Crowd and Traffic Management Plan.
* Develop contract specifications for technical, event infrastructure and event personnel and be responsible for provision, including the sourcing of quotes, purchase orders and payment of invoices in accordance with the City's procurement and finance policies.
* Facilitate community participation City of Hobart delivered events, including operational plans such as event management plans, facilitate group briefings, documentation, and design.
* Act as a point of liaison for external and community stakeholders at events and activations.
* Oversee the preparation and implementation of Risk, Emergency, Traffic, and Pedestrian Movement Plans during events and activations.

About you

You are an experienced events professional with strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in fast paced environments. You demonstrate sound judgement, leadership capability and the ability to resolve issues on site. You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, businesses, government and community stakeholders.

You bring experience in planning, managing and delivering events and activations, as well as the capability to supervise staff or contractors to ensure safe and effective event operations. You are comfortable working outdoors in a range of weather conditions and are physically able to lift and move event equipment.

What you'll bring:

* A Diploma or Higher in Event Management or similar filed coupled with experience in a similar role; or significant practical experience in event management, specifically in the areas or producing or directing major events.
* Current Driver Licence.
* Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
