NACCHO is seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Training Officer – Immunisations to support the delivery of our national immunisation training program. This role plays a vital part in strengthening the capacity of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) Sector to deliver immunisations and improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Reporting to the National Training Coordinator – Immunisations, you will contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, culturally safe immunisation training and education. Your clinical expertise and contextual understanding will help ensure the program is responsive, effective, and aligned with national standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the design, development, and delivery of national immunisation training and education programs.
* Support the creation of a national communication and engagement strategy to promote immunisation awareness in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* Ensure training delivery aligns with service quality standards, health and safety policies, and professional codes of practice.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immunisation practices, policies, and legislation.
* Collaborate with ACCHOs, Affiliates, peak bodies, and government stakeholders to support program implementation.
About You
You are a registered health professional with a strong understanding of immunisation practices and a commitment to improving health equity. You bring a collaborative approach, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for education and capacity building.
Essential Criteria
* Experience and understanding of the Australian Immunisation Program Schedule, including catch-up immunisations and cold-chain management processes.
* Understanding of the immunisation policy context, available accredited immunisation courses and clinical immunisation resources.
* Developing and implementing health promotion projects is highly desirable.
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly desirable.
