Details: Are you a dedicated educator who can inspire and engage our students? We are looking for an educator with full TQI registration accreditation for anticipated vacancies in 2026 in our ACT Senior Secondary Certificate (Year 12) program offered at CIT in an adult learning environment.

What is the position:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated experienced Educator Level 1 to join our team. The ideal candidate will create engaging and inclusive lesson plans, support student growth, and work collaboratively with staff and students.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: To be successful in this position you must have the following:
All new employees at engaged at or below the Educator Level 1.1 (TL1.6) with Vocational Education Training (VET) responsibilities must:
* hold a Training and Assessment Certificate IV level qualification (such as a TAE40116 or equivalent); or
* where the full qualification is not held, hold as a minimum prior to employment as an employee in any form, qualifications as required by the Standards for RTOs; and
* complete the full qualification within 12 months of engagement and be supervised by a suitably qualified person.
Note: An employee at the Educator Level 1 classification (or above) teaching and/or managing within the Year 12 program, who does not participate in VET as regulated by ASQA, will not be required to hold qualifications other than those required by the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS). Should VET be undertaken, clause M10 qualification requirements will apply in their entirety.
Mandatory
* Prior to commencing in this role, a minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification; a current full teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT TQI) and a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. * Approved working status – Be an Australian citizen and/or be permanent resident and/or hold a valid working visa.
* Industry experience Refer to the current CIT Educators enterprise agreement available on CIT website at: cit.edu.au/about/employment
Desirable
* Experience in teaching in an ACT College system within the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS) College/School.
* Knowledge and experience of BSSS policy, ACS, and adherence to BSSS policy and procedures.
* Experience in coordinating such as AST, moderation, certification, and pastoral care programs.
Notes: This is a temporary position available from 27 April 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
