Are you a proactive WHS professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit community? We are seeking a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to join a progressive Regional Council in New South Wales, supporting a strong safety culture across diverse operational environments.
Reporting to the Manager People & Wellbeing, this role will see you partner with leaders and teams to drive practical safety outcomes across both office and field-based settings.
About the Role
This is a predominantly office-based position with regular site visits across Council worksites. A company vehicle will be provided for inspections and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct onsite WHS inspections and audits across operational areas
* Support injury management and return-to-work processes in collaboration with leaders and external stakeholders
* Assist with the development, review and implementation of WHS policies, procedures and frameworks
* Provide guidance on contractor management and compliance requirements
* Contribute to risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action tracking
* Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation
About You
* Demonstrated experience in a WHS Advisor or similar safety-focused role
* Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and best practice
* Experience supporting return-to-work and injury management processes
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and coach leaders
* Current Class C Driver Licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
* Relevant WHS qualifications (Certificate IV in WHS or higher)
