As a Guest Service Agent at Hotel Marvell' in Byron Bay, NSW, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless stay for all our guests. This full-time role is crucial in delivering an unparalleled hospitality experience and contributing to the overall success of our hotel.
What you'll be doing
* Welcome and register guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth check‑in process
* Assist guests with enquiries, requests and concerns, addressing them in a timely and professional manner
* Process payments, handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
* Maintain a thorough understanding of hotel facilities, services and local area knowledge to recommend activities and dining options
* Liaise with other hotel departments to coordinate guest requirements and ensure a cohesive guest experience
* Contribute to the overall cleanliness and presentation of the hotel lobby and public areas
* Perform other duties as required to support the Front Office and Guest Services team
What we're looking for
* Previous experience in a customer‑facing role, preferably within the hospitality industry
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests from diverse backgrounds
* Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities to handle guest inquiries and concerns effectively
* Proficient in using hotel management software and computer systems (PMS); Opera Cloud experience beneficial
* A genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
* Availability to commence within the coming week
* Must possess valid Australian work rights or an acceptable work visa to be eligible for this position
