At Melbourne Museum, we are seeking a Programs Officer to play a vital role in promoting cultural awareness and appreciation.
The successful candidate will develop and deliver programs that connect with both First Peoples communities and the general public.
This position involves collaborating with teams across Museums Victoria to create impactful visitor experiences.
About the Role
We are looking for someone with a sound understanding of and strong relationships with First Peoples of south-eastern Australia.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to interpret and present First Peoples knowledge, cultures, histories, and technology for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Presents a diverse range of programs tailored to booked groups and public audiences.
2. Collaborates with teams across Museums Victoria to create programs that align with strategic goals.
3. Prepares program materials, gathers and reports on audience feedback.
4. Supports the development of training for staff and volunteers involved in program delivery.
5. Ensures that programs resonate with diverse audiences and showcase the significance of First Peoples cultures.
About You
* Awareness of education and learning techniques for diverse audiences and the ability to transfer this knowledge to a museum context.
