About the role
This role is part of the Mechanical Engineering team and works on the development of mechanical design and prototyping of new gyro‐stabilised camera systems. Your activities will span the entire product lifecycle from conception through to production and post‐sales support.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Conceptualise solutions to complex engineering problems.
* Prepare 3D models.
* Manage and maintain Bill's of materials.
* Work closely with all engineering disciplines to ensure the best possible design outcomes are realised.
* Build and test prototypes.
* Perform component evaluations using mathematical and experimental techniques.
* Facilitate transfer of designs from engineering to production.
* Support customers and sales with installations and custom solutions.
* Follow company policies and procedures (information security, quality and others as directed).
* Adhere to safe work procedures and contribute to OHS management system.
* Carry out other duties as required by the business.
Essential qualifications and experience
* Degree qualification in mechanical engineering.
* Experience in CAD modelling and mechanical component design.
* Experience with precision mechatronic systems.
* Proficient with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software.
* Familiar with general mechanical tooling and manufacturing processes and usage of common measurement instruments and laboratory systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Drive for excellence in engineering.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Focus on quality.
* High degree of self‐organisation.
* Ability to adapt to changing business requirements.
* Good team player.
Applicants must have full, permanent work rights in Australia. Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is applicable to this role. Applicants must be able to obtain National Police and other related security clearances that apply to the role.
