Support Worker
We are seeking a Support Worker to provide support to individuals in need, working under the direction of case managers and team leaders to assist in achieving set outcomes.
About the Role
This is a casual position based in Burnie, Tasmania. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 3.
Responsibilities
* Ensure participants feel safe, wanted, and comfortable while understanding the house rules to use the shelter for the night.
* Assess each participant's safety and the safety of others if they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
* Provide information about other support services that can be accessed to assist participants into transitional housing or support.
* Support team members so that a coordinated and collaborative approach is adopted from the outset.
Requirements
* Relevant vocational qualifications or equivalent experience to Certificate III in Community Services.
* Experience in social work, community welfare, mental illness, drug and alcohol dependency, nursing, or other relevant experience.
* A Tasmania Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
* First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain).
* The ability to work with vulnerable individuals and people under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
