Location: Maitland, New South Wales
Full‐time, Contract Traineeship – commencing June 2026 for a period of two years.
Responsibilities
You will work within the Design team to assist with the delivery of civil engineering design projects. This includes providing accurate and efficient design documentation and advice for projects and works that are compliant with relevant standards, legislation and budgets. A key part of your role will be to prepare concept and detailed design plans, including the use of 2‐D and 3‐D modelling for minor/simple civil infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
* Eligibility to complete a traineeship (see role charter for eligibility requirements).
* Genuine interest in civil design and engineering.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Willingness to learn and demonstrated initiative.
* Provisional or full licence by the commencement of employment (June 2026).
Benefits
This full‐time, temporary role offers a 35‐hour week and a salary range of $36,800.40 to $49,280.40 per year, plus 12 % superannuation. The Council covers the cost of all TAFE fees, pays you to attend TAFE and study, and provides trainees with access to staff benefits such as flexible working arrangements and a fitness passport.
