Enginium is expanding our high-performing engineering team, and we're looking for experienced professionals to support one of Australasia's most significant space and infrastructure programs — SouthPAN, the Southern Positioning Augmentation Network.
We have three roles available
We are seeking Systems Engineers and Certification Engineers (Safety & Security) to work on a sovereign satellite-based augmentation system delivering critical Position, Navigation, and Timing services across Australia and New Zealand. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a long-term, nation-building capability spanning aviation, space, communications, and safety-critical systems
As an Enginium employee, you'll work alongside leading government and industry partners on complex, real-world engineering challenges. You'll be involved in systems engineering leadership, certification and assurance, technical governance, verification & validation, and stakeholder engagement across Australia and New Zealand.
These roles suit engineers with experience in space, satellite, aviation, GNSS, telecommunications, or complex government programs, who enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams and influencing outcomes at a system level.

Role 1. Safety Certification Engineer (EL1 Equivalent)
The Role:
Lead the aviation certification program for SouthPAN across Australian and New Zealand domains. You will work with the design authority (Lockheed Martin) and aviation stakeholders to ensure safety certification needs are met through technical reviews, audits, and verification activities.
Key Requirements:
* Experience:
5+ years in complex developmental or government procurement programs, including 3 years in space, satellite, or aviation projects.
* Technical Knowledge:
Demonstrated understanding of engineering approaches for aviation technology development and system life cycle management.
* Qualifications:
Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant field (highly desirable).
Role 2. Security Certification Engineer (EL1 Equivalent)
The Role:
Lead security certification and accreditation for SouthPAN. You will manage relationships with security stakeholders, perform quality assurance, and develop engineering processes to ensure project security objectives and compliance standards are met.
Key Requirements:
* Experience:
5+ years in complex engineering programs, with at least 3 years specifically in space, satellite, or aviation-related sectors.
* Compliance:
Demonstrated experience with the Australian Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) or equivalent "secure-by-design" approaches.
* Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of GNSS, SBAS, digital signals processing, or satellite communications technology.
Role 3. Systems Engineering Team Lead (EL1 Equivalent)
The Role:
Manage a team of systems engineers to elicit stakeholder needs, develop customer requirements, and lead the overall systems engineering effort for SouthPAN. You will provide mentorship to junior engineers and ensure effective integration across all engineering specialties.
Key Requirements:
* Experience:
5+ years in complex developmental programs, including 3 years in space or aviation-related projects.
* Technical Leadership:
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary virtual teams and manage/mentor junior systems engineers.
* Systems Theory:
Advanced understanding of systems theory and system life cycle management.
Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (Baseline or higher is standard for this team composition).

* be an Australian citizen
* have a checkable background.
