About The Prospect
Are you an Aboriginal Mental Health professional ready to support families through trauma, healing, and connection? Join our Out-of-Home Care / Whole Family Team a Tier 4 specialist mental health service based in Ingleburn where you’ll provide culturally informed, trauma aware care to Aboriginal children and young people in out of home care and Aboriginal families involved in the child protection system or facing complex mental health and drug health issues.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver culturally informed, recovery-oriented care to Aboriginal consumers and their families.
- Provide mental health assessments and therapeutic support to children and young people in out-of-home care.
- Support families at risk of breakdown due to child protection matters secondary to mental health, trauma, or substance use.
- Advocate for Aboriginal-led approaches to care and contribute to service design.
- Build strong relationships with families, Elders, and partner agencies.
- Engage in community education, outreach, and health promotion.
Essential Qualifications And Registration Requirements
To apply for this role, you must hold relevant qualifications and registration/membership as outlined within the position description. This includes:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as one of the following: Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Registered Psychologist
- Or a Bachelor degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Or A Bachelor degree in Health Science (Mental Health) through the Charles Sturt Graduate program.
