We are seeking a committed and passionate 0.5 FTE Students with Disabilities (SWD) Coordinator to positively impact the lives of students with diverse learning needs and enhance the capacity of our staff.
This is a wonderful opportunity to support and empower students in their learning journey while contributing to the inclusive and supportive community at Our Lady of Mercy, Girrawheen.
This SWD coordinator will form part of the Extended Leadership Team along with the Principal and Assistant Principals.
Selection Criteria Demonstrate a strong understanding of best practice in inclusive education, differentiation and intervention, with the capacity to lead staff in embedding these approaches across the school.
Lead and support teachers and Education Assistants in the development, implementation and review of Individualised Learning/Education Plans (ILPs and IEPs) and Behaviour Plans that address the academic, social and emotional needs of students with disabilities.
Model and promote evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions, providing coaching and professional learning to build staff capacity in supporting diverse learners.
Use assessment and data analysis to track student progress, guide instructional decisions, and oversee the effective implementation of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) process, including accurate documentation and funding applications.
Coordinate a collaborative approach to student support by fostering strong partnerships with staff, parents, parish, and external agencies, ensuring holistic responses to student needs.
Demonstrate highly developed organisational and leadership skills, ensuring effective processes, clear communication, and alignment with school improvement goals.
Actively contribute to the wider life of the school, upholding and promoting the Catholic ethos and values of Our Lady of Mercy Primary School.
