THE POSITION Prepare and assist with cooking daily meals in a hospital kitchen environment. Follow set menus, portion guidelines, and dietary requirements. Support safe food handling, hygiene standards, and kitchen cleanliness. Work collaboratively with the catering team to deliver timely meal services. THE PERSON Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification). Current certification, such as HACCP or Food Safety Supervisor, to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Specialised training in preparing therapeutic diets or texture-modified meals (desirable). Training in identifying and managing allergens in food preparation. Works well in a fast-paced, structured environment and stays calm under pressure. Brings a positive, team-focused attitude with strong communication skills.
