Role Overview
The Regional Branch Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of RTM Engineering's Bowen branch, servicing customers across the Bowen Basin, Whitsundays and Burdekin region.
This leadership role oversees day-to-day operations, health and safety, workforce coordination, customer relationships, financial performance and overall delivery of engineering services both in the workshop and at client sites serviced by the Bowen branch.
The role requires a hands-on leader who can manage people, drive operational excellence, maintain strong safety performance, meet revenue and margin targets, whilst delivering high-quality service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership:
· Champion RTM's safety culture and ensure WHS, environmental and quality compliance.
· Conduct regular toolbox talks, hazard reviews and safety audits.
· Lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
Operational Management:
· Oversee workshop, field services, steel supply, logistics and project operations.
· Manage schedules, job allocation and resources.
· Maintain equipment, plant and facilities.
· Drive continuous improvement.
Financial & Commercial Performance:
· Achieve revenue and margin targets.
· Manage budgets, forecasts and reporting.
· Oversee job costing, stock control and invoicing.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
· Build relationships with ports, mining, agricultural and industrial clients in the region.
· Ensure high customer service standards and timely delivery.
· Support business development opportunities.
Leadership & People Management:
· Lead and mentor workshop, field, steel supply, warehouse and admin teams.
· Manage performance, training and workforce planning.
Compliance & Governance:
· Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace health & safety (WHS) legislation and accreditation standards.
· Maintain documentation and audit readiness.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
· Leadership experience in engineering or industrial services.
· Strong WHS/ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 knowledge.
· Operational planning and workforce coordination skills.
· Commercial acumen and budgeting experience.
· Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
· Regional leadership and team management capability.
· Engineering, fabrication or steel supply knowledge beneficial.
Qualifications
· Trade and/or tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Operations, Business or related fields preferred.
· WHS training desirable.
· Current driver's licence required.
