QUALITY, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT MANAGER
This position sits at the heart of Grinders Coffee's Supply Chain team, based at the iconic Fairfield Roastery in Victoria. As part of the Coca‐Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) family, Grinders Coffee has evolved from a Melbourne institution into one of Australia's leading coffee brands, supported by a diverse portfolio including Grinders Coffee, Giancarlo Coffee, and Origin Tea & Taboo.
With significant growth in recent years and partnerships with major national brands, this role plays a pivotal part in ensuring that quality, food safety, environmental stewardship, and workplace safety standards continue to support the business as it scales.
What will you be doing? Leadership & Culture
* Champion and role‐model leadership behaviours, embedding accountability and continuous improvement across the site.
* Own and review QSE‐related KPIs, contributing to site performance, risk management, and financial outcomes.
* Provide timely, constructive feedback to support employee development.
Quality Management
* Own the design, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness of the Quality Management System
* Maintain ISO certifications across Quality, Food Safety, and Environment, ensuring audit readiness and compliance.
* Ensure the Grinders Coffee Management System supports business strategy and operational excellence.
Food Safety Management
* Provide site‐level assurance that food safety, environmental, and WHS risks are identified, controlled, and effectively managed.
* Act as the primary site representative with regulators, certifying bodies, and key customers on QSE matters
* Develop and maintain food safety programs, procedures, and documentation.
Environmental Management
* Ensure environmental risks are identified, controlled, and effectively managed.
* Develop and maintain environmental management programs and sustainability initiatives.
* Lead environmental audits and certification activities and ensure integration into the broader management system.
Safety Management
* Ensure workplace health and safety risks are identified, controlled, and effectively managed.
* Develop and maintain WHS programs that promote a proactive, safety‐first culture.
* Lead WHS audit and certification activities and ensure alignment with legislative and system requirements.
Training & Capability Development
* Own the QSE training framework, including needs analysis, planning, delivery, and effectiveness review.
* Define and document competency requirements across Quality, Food Safety, Environment, and WHS.
* Ensure effective induction and ongoing capability development for employees and leaders.
Corrective Actions & Continuous Improvement
* Act as the subject‐matter expert in problem solving for quality, environmental and safety issues.
* Analyse QSE data and insights to support operational teams and decision‐making.
* Lead investigations and implement corrective actions for customer and consumer complaints.
Let's talk about You
* Proven quality leader with FMCG or food manufacturing experience and a strong track record in team development.
* Degree‐qualified in Food Science, Technology, or related field, with deep technical expertise in Quality Assurance.
* Demonstrated experience leading certification and compliance across ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, FSANZ, Rainforest Alliance, ACO, Halal, and Kosher standards.
* SAP ECC experience desirable.
