About the role:

Reporting to the Co-CEO, the Director, Workforce, Education and Development (job shared role at 0.6 FTE) will oversee initiatives aimed at strengthening and supporting the mental health and wellbeing workforce by increasing the diversity, availability, and uptake of learning opportunities. They will ensure Victoria has a high-quality, efficient workforce development ecosystem that supports all mental health and wellbeing workers-regardless of professional discipline, background, role, setting, or location-enabling the development of a shared set of core capabilities that translate into improved mental health and wellbeing treatment, care and support for all Victorians.

The Director, Workforce, Education and Development (job share) will lead the development and implementation of the Collaborative Centre's first comprehensive workforce development plan focused on whole-of-workforce core mental health and wellbeing capabilities. This plan will be informed by evidence, including Lived and Living experience (LLE), and will address the needs of a multidisciplinary workforce, ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-impact education and training programs that drive sector-wide improvements in skills, knowledge, and collaboration.

About you:

* Personal lived experience of mental illness, mental health challenges or psychological distress, or as a family member, carer, supporter or kin with strong connections to Lived and Living Experience communities is mandatory.
* Experience in a designated lived experience leadership role in the mental health sector is mandatory. Experience in a designated consumer leadership role is desirable.
* Expert knowledge and experience in workforce capability building within the mental health (preferred), human services, or health sectors, with a strong understanding of the Collaborative Centre's operating context, partnerships, strategic directions, organisational strategy, and associated priorities and risks.
* Strong understanding of the mental health and wellbeing system in Victoria, including experience in mental health policy, projects, reform, commissioning, Lived and Living expertise, organisational strategy, service delivery and/or management.
* A tertiary qualification in fields related to mental health and wellbeing, social sciences, health administration and/or public health is desirable.
