The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a motivated and experienced Transit Manager – Security to join the Transperth Train Operations team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Manager Security Services, this role plays a key part in managing security staff, responding to operational incidents, and driving continuous improvement across the network. You'll be working in a dynamic, high-impact environment where leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage frontline security operations, ensuring a safe and customer-friendly environment across trains, stations, and rail reserves.
* Promote a customer-focused culture, maintaining strong relationships with community groups, government bodies, and internal stakeholders.
* Drive continuous improvement by reviewing operational performance, implementing new systems, policies, procedures and practices.
* Contribute to the branch's strategic and business planning process, ensuring frontline resources have clarity and understanding of expectations and service standards.
* Represent the PTA in emergency situations and large-scale events, including liaison with WA Police and other agencies.
* Promote a customer-focused culture, maintaining strong relationships with community groups, government bodies, and internal stakeholders.
* Drive continuous improvement by reviewing operational performance, implementing new systems, and supporting strategic planning initiatives.
* Oversee investigations into Transit Officer conduct and contribute to EBA negotiations and industrial relations matters.
About You

* Strong understanding of modern security practices, legislation, and community safety principles.
* Proven leadership in managing large operational teams and implementing change initiatives.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
* Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure or emergency situations.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

There are currently three permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process will be placed in a pool which may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
To be eligible to work permanently at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen, have Permanent Residency status or hold a current visa with permanent working rights in Australia.
