LE Jarvis Australia is a trusted provider of electrical rotating equipment services, known for quality workmanship, safety excellence and strong customer relationships. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Supervisor to lead our busy Kewdale workshop and support our team in delivering high-quality, cost-effective service for our customers.

About the Role

As the Workshop Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of our workshop, supervise a team of technicians and apprentices, and ensure all work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. This hands-on leadership role involves coordinating job activities, assisting with complex mechanical and electrical diagnostics, and fostering a positive and productive team environment.

You will also play a key role in maintaining safe work practices, managing workflow, and supporting continuous improvement across workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead daily job-start meetings and coordinate workshop activities.

· Supervise, mentor and support trades technicians, apprentices and assistants.

· Plan and organise repair activities, tools, resources and work methods.

· Conduct inspections and detailed analysis of AC and DC electric motors and generators including Hazardous Area equipment.

· Assist staff with troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues

· Assist in estimating costs in support of operations manager/estimator

· Ensure repairs and servicing follow procedures, instructions and manufacturer guidelines.

· Purchase project materials and ensure accurate costing and PO processing.

· Monitor productivity and provide constructive coaching and feedback.

· Maintain a clean, safe and compliant workshop environment.

· Ensure timesheets, paperwork and workshop records are completed accurately.

· Participate in tender technical reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.

· Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers, engineers, consultants and internal teams.

· Uphold WHS responsibilities and model safe working behaviours at all times.

What We’re Looking For

· Electrical Engineering Technician or Trade qualification (Cert III in Electrical Machine Repair) with 10+ years’ experience in electrical fitting of rotating equipment.

· Strong background in AC & DC LV/HV motors and generators.

· Proven workshop supervision experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team.

· Experience in working under ISO certified quality systems.

· Experience in disassembly, reassembly and electrical testing of motors.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.

· Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain high quality standards.

· Good computer skills and experience using workshop systems.

· A proactive, safety-focused mindset and passion for quality workmanship.

· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
