Job Description
Our Client, Conjantom Family Trust T/A The Coffee Club, is seeking a talented full-time Chef to join their kitchen team and deliver consistently high-quality meals in a fast-paced café environment. The role involves preparing and cooking menu items to brand standards, maintaining excellent food presentation and portion control, supporting menu planning, monitoring stock and ordering, and ensuring strict compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
The ideal candidate will have proven commercial kitchen experience, strong time-management skills, a team-focused attitude, and a genuine passion for fresh, well-executed café cuisine and great customer experiences.
Responsibilities
* Oversees the restaurant's kitchen by managing the food preparation team, deciding what dishes to serve and adjusting orders to meet guests' requests.
* Cooks guests' orders according to their preferences.
* Employs food safety best practices and ensures all kitchen staff members do the same.
* Acts with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment with knives and high-temperature surfaces.
* Selects choice ingredients that give dishes the best flavour.
* Experiments to develop new specialties that attract diners.
* Coaches the sous chef and other kitchen staff to perform at their best.
* Determines food quantity to order and maintains an appropriate supply.
* Keeps up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure a positive guest experience.
* Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings.
* Takes on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or busy.
* Takes direction and collaborates with the restaurant's administrative team.
Qualifications
* AQF Diploma.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field.
Salary
* $75,000 - $90,000 + Superannuation.
