Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to manage accounting duties, including the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, raising customer tax invoices, maintaining registers, undertaking reconciliations, and providing supporting documentation for internal and external audits. This includes ensuring correct processes are followed, overseeing the business's record-keeping and compliance, managing domestic and international travel, and providing advice to internal and external clients, including the calculation and review of relevant travel allowances.
You will monitor Corporate Credit Cards and implement and maintain electronic forms for the Finance and Services team. You will also assist with the preparation of end-of-month requirements, including journals and reconciliations, and perform a lead role in the agency's facilities management service, proactively identifying and resolving issues arising from internal requests through liaison with stakeholders, such as suppliers, contractors, staff, and building management. The preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, as well as providing input into Senate Estimates and responses to questions on notice, is required. At times, you will provide support services and undertake project work on financial management issues, including delivering financial management awareness training and presentations on travel and accounts processes.
Suitable candidates will have relevant tertiary qualifications with proficiency in the use of Excel. You will demonstrate sound judgement and decision‐making skills, including the ability to work effectively and reliably in a self‐managing team environment. You will have strong organisational and analytical skills, including the ability to supervise and coordinate activities, resources, and people to set priorities and meet deadlines. Effective communication and customer service skills, along with experience in the accurate and timely processing of financial data, are essential. Knowledge of Commonwealth legislation and procedures relating to travel, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, and procurement would be an advantage.

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
