We are currently seeking a Senior Medical Receptionist to join our team on a Part-Time permanent basis at our Mersey clinic in Tasmania, working rotating shifts Monday to Friday between 6:45am and 9:00pm.

Role Overview
As a Senior Medical Receptionist, your responsibilities will include:
Patient Interaction
Greet patients and callers professionally and courteously
Assist patients with appointment scheduling
Provide a warm and supportive experience for patients in varying situations
Administrative Tasks
Manage medical records confidentially and efficiently
Process patient payments (cash, EFTPOS, direct billing)
Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, DVA, and WorkCover
Handle internal emails and inquiries
Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception and waiting area
Collaboration
Work both autonomously and as part of a team
Communicate professionally with referring doctors and hospital staff
Provide roster coverage during annual or sick leave
Ensure accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records
Confidentiality
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient personal and financial information
Complete recalls and adhere to privacy protocols
Qualifications And Skills
Previous medical receptionist and/or call centre experience (highly desirable but not essential)
Strong communication skills — both verbal and listening — with patience and empathy
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Customer service experience
Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively within a team
