Senior Scientist and Laboratory Manager
Molecular diagnostics plays a vital role in healthcare. As a Senior Scientist and Laboratory Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our molecular diagnostics laboratory.
* Lead and manage a team of scientists to ensure quality scientific output and operational efficiency.
* Develop, optimize, and validate in-house molecular assays using PCR-based platforms.
* Oversee workflows including sample preparation, extraction, analysis, and NGS.
* Manage laboratory projects from planning to delivery, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
* Champion process improvement initiatives and collaborate across departments to support organisational growth.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will require:
* Hands-on technical expertise in molecular diagnostics, including PCR-based platforms and assay development.
* Demonstrated leadership experience within a molecular laboratory environment.
* Strong understanding of quality systems and accreditation requirements.
* Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and lead change initiatives.
