About the role
The Learning Designer is responsible for advising and supporting teaching staff on the design of effective learning and teaching strategies at the course and program level and for the quality assessment of courses and programs and participates in the review and continuous improvement of learning.
Responsibilities
* Shape and contribute to strategic learning and teaching initiatives, guidelines, and curriculum enhancement projects.
* Facilitate curriculum mapping and identify trends to provide continuous curriculum improvement, pedagogical interpretation, analysis, and collaborative facilitation.
* Support implementation and ongoing enhancement of learning and teaching quality assurance and innovation projects.
* Develop, analyse, and synthesise reports and research to generate insights and inform professional development and continuous improvement in learning and teaching.
About you
You will have excellent project management skills, enhanced by highly developed planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing priorities, allocating resources and meeting deadlines. You will also have proficiency in the usage, promotion and pedagogical applications of one or more of the following systems in a tertiary environment: Learning Management Systems (preferably Moodle); Virtual Classroom platforms, e-Portfolios, Content Repository Systems, and Plagiarism Detection Software.
* Understanding of contemporary tertiary pedagogies and educational design principles, and knowledge of their application to different delivery modes - in particular blended, digital and online learning.
* Experience with designing and developing online and blended learning and teaching in adult or higher education cohorts.
* Experience in contributing to building staff capabilities in pedagogy, design and facilitation of quality learning and teaching practices for all delivery modes.
