The Property Officer plays a key role in ensuring Council's property and land tenure arrangements are well‐managed, compliant and fit‐for‐purpose. By supporting clear, consistent and evidence‐based property management practices, this role helps protect and add value to Council's property portfolio — ultimately contributing to better services for the community.

You are a practical, detail‐focused and collaborative professional who enjoys working with property information, leases, licences and land matters in a structured environment.

The role

Reporting to the Coordinator Strategic Property and Facilities Management, the Property Officer delivers Council\'s strategic property management functions with a focus on land, tenure and transactions.

Working Collaboratively Across The Organisation

* manage the end‐to‐end lifecycle of leases and licences, including renewals, variations and terminations
* support property acquisitions, disposals and rationalisation activities
* maintain accurate property, land and lease registers to ensure compliance and audit readiness
* undertake property inspections to monitor tenure compliance and identify risks
* coordinate rent reviews, CPI adjustments and valuations in line with policy
* support statutory property processes such as road discontinuances, easements and land exchanges
* prepare clear reports, briefings and recommendations for management and Council
* provide property and tenure advice to internal departments and community stakeholders

You will also contribute property data, research and insights to support the development and implementation of strategic property frameworks led by the Coordinator and Manager.

* work closely with colleagues to improve systems, records and ways of working

What You\'ll Bring

You will bring a solid foundation in property or land management, along with:

* qualifications in property, property management, planning, asset management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
* experience managing leases, licences or land‐related matters in a regulated environment
* a working knowledge of property‐related legislation and compliance requirements
* strong organisational and analytical skills, with attention to detail
* the ability to communicate clearly and build constructive relationships
* a proactive approach to identifying issues and escalating risks appropriately
