About the role:
As the Senior Risk Officer, you will work closely within a small team and will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the City's risk and audit frameworks, systems and processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Develop, implement and administer the City's risk strategies and frameworks.
* Collaborate with departments to integrate risk into day-to-day decision making.
* Champion a strong risk culture through training, reporting, and continuous improvement.
* Provide insightful analysis to support strategic planning and compliance.

* An eye for detail and a knack for identifying patterns.
* Curiosity and a willingness to learn.
* Confidence to ask tough questions and advocate for best practices.

The municipality has a current resident population of approximately 41,000 people (Australian Bureau of Statistics Census 2021) with an average annual growth rate of around 2.3 percent. The population is expected to increase to over 55,000 residents by the year 2026.
