The Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs (Bell School) is a world-leading centre for research, education, and policy analysis on international and Asia Pacific politics, security, diplomacy, and strategic affairs. The School comprises a number of vibrant, interdisciplinary, intellectual communities: the Department of International Relations, the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, the Department of Political and Social Change, and the Department of Pacific Affairs.

The Department of Pacific Affairs (DPA) is the leading international centre for applied research into contemporary governance issues in Melanesia. In addition to its scholarly goals, DPA maintains a strong commitment to active engagement with policy communities in the region and Australia.

**The Opportunity**

The Research Fellow (Pacific History) will report to the Head - Department of Pacific Affairs and work collegially with staff across DPA toward the achievement of its research, educational and community engagement outcomes and in accordance with the strategic goals of the School, College and ANU more broadly. The role will include teaching in Pacific history, supporting the redevelopment of DPAs Pacific history curriculum and to help foster ANU's cohort of Pacific history students (including those on our HDR program). The role will also continue to support our developing relationship with institutions in the region.
