About the Role:
Curtin University is excited to offer two opportunities to join our Financial Operations Transaction Team. We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Officers to support the efficient and effective financial operations of the University.
In this vital role, you will be at the centre of Curtin's financial activities, working closely with faculties and business units to provide accurate and timely financial support. Your responsibilities will include overseeing and processing transactional matters, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will help ensure that our finance and accounting processes run efficiently, enabling informed decision-making and contributing to the University's financial health and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Transactions: Accurately process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, foreign currency transactions, credit notes, purchase orders, and more, in accordance with University policies and relevant legislation.
* Workflow Monitoring: Oversee electronic workflows related to financial transactions and resolve any issues in areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
* Data Maintenance: Maintain financial support data within our Financial Systems, including user setup, financial master data, selection codes, and cost centre maintenance.
* Client Support: Provide guidance to faculties and business areas on financial transactions, Financial Systems, and business processes, and promptly resolve queries from clients, staff, and third parties.
What We're Looking For:
* Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience working in a finance related role. Relevant qualifications in Finance and/or Accounting are desirable.
* Customer Service Experience: Strong background in customer service with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Finance Knowledge: Experience and knowledge in finance operations and principles.
* Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Suite and financial systems.
* Adaptability: Quick to learn new systems and processes, with a proactive and adaptable approach to work.
Role Requirements:
1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
