The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, committed, and customer service-focused Maintenance Officer to join our team at Martha's Point on a permanent part-time basis .
As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our village by undertaking maintenance activities and providing excellent customer service to our residents. We are seeking a proactive individual with strong communication skills and a knack for problem-solving.
Reporting to the Village Manager, your duties will include:
1. Coordinating and undertaking proactive and reactive maintenance, repairs, and inspections across the village.
2. Coordinating, supervising, and liaising with external contractors as necessary.
3. Implementing and adhering to EHS procedures, ensuring safety at all times.
4. Addressing maintenance requests promptly and efficiently with great customer service and a genuine interest in assisting and working with the elderly.
5. Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities using our program.
6. Assisting with various ad hoc duties where required.
7. Transporting residents for outings and shopping trips in the village bus.

About You
1. Demonstrated experience in residential maintenance or as a handyperson.
2. Organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
3. Great customer service skills with a genuine interest in assisting and working with the elderly.
4. Ability to supervise and liaise with trades.
5. A current Australian Light Rigid (or above) driver's licence (or willingness to obtain).
6. A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
7. Basic computer skills.
8. Ability to take initiative and be proactive.
9. A natural problem solver while keeping safety top of mind.
10. Ability to work individually and as part of a team.

Relevant internal training and inductions will be provided to the successful candidate on-site.
Please note: The successful applicant must complete a Police Check and will be required to receive an annual flu vaccination between April and October, with supporting documentation prior to joining. For selected roles, pre-employment medical assessments will also be required.
