This newly created role is part of the Senior Team of SSI's DFSV Prevention and Response Unit and is responsible for conceptualising, leading and overseeing the development and delivery of individual navigation support and capacity building, and community and industry engagement strategies and initiatives (including managing workplan and budget) aimed at facilitating effective employment and skills pathways for migrant women.

Based in Logan (QLD), the Women's Employment and Skills Pathways program is a hybrid model providing place-based and remote navigation support, as well as nation‑wide outreach and engagement.


About You

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join SSI's DFSV Prevention and Response Unit as the Senior Project Lead for our Women's Employment and Skills Pathways program. In this pivotal role, you will conceptualise, drive and oversee the design and delivery of initiatives that strengthen employment and skills pathways for migrant women across Australia. As a key member of the Senior Team, you will manage program development, workplans and budgets while leading a hybrid service model based in Logan, delivering both place‑based and remote navigation support, as well as nationwide outreach and sector engagement.

You will lead the delivery of high‑impact services and partnerships that include:

* Skills recognition and accreditation navigation: Providing tailored, one‑on‑one support—including information, advice, referrals and consultations—to guide migrant women through skills recognition and professional accreditation processes.
* Employment pathways and service linkages: Building strong connections with employment, training and job‑readiness services to ensure participants can access the right support, vocational opportunities and job placement pathways.
* Capacity building, community and industry engagement: Designing and delivering strategies that build capability across communities, employers and sector partners to create more equitable and accessible employment opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and oversee the development and implementation of a program delivering individual navigation support and capacity building, and community and industry engagement strategies and initiatives aimed at facilitating effective employment and skills pathways for migrant women.
* Lead the promotion of the program through community and sector outreach, digital marketing and communications, and partnerships to facilitate uptake.
* Establish and oversee effective program access pathways locally and nationally.
* Develop productive partnerships with stakeholders across migrant women's organisations, professional accreditation bodies, employment services, government, and the community sector to achieve outcomes.
* Manage all aspects of the program, including workplan and budget, and provide leadership to the team.
* Collaborate with program stakeholders to ensure quality and timely delivery of program activities and commitments.
* Engage and consult with stakeholders locally and nationally to promote the program and ensure uptake.
* Develop and promote evidence on gender‑responsive approaches to facilitating effective employment and skills pathways for migrant women.
* Conceptualise and develop policy advice, briefings and grant proposals as relevant.
* Oversee monitoring, reporting and evaluation.


Key Skills and Experiences

* Project management – Demonstrated experience delivering and reporting on projects/programs on time and to a high quality.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – The ability to confidently convey ideas and information with clarity and a deep understanding of audience and purpose.
* People leadership – Ability to inspire and support high performing teams.
* Strategic stakeholder management – Experience building relationships with stakeholders to progress common goals.
* Expertise and skills to work in the community sector.
* Multicultural background or extensive experience with multicultural communities and strategic analytical skills related to developing evidence for impact.
